Dallara's on-going investment in cutting edge technology has resulted in building the world's first and only commercially available F1-grade Driving Simulator, offering engineers, race teams and drivers the possibility of vehicle set up development, data analysis, refinement of driving technique and the learning of new tracks.
The Dallara Simulator offers a learning experience like no other, as it enables a driver to drive the exact same monocoque as used on track, with the same driver controls (pedals, brake bias, dash etc) and the same level of feedback (steering and brake effort). A radio-equipped helmet is required, as well as gloves, shoes and a race suit.
Our state-of-the-art simulation engine, complete with high fidelity laser-scanned tracks and sophisticated multi-body model, can replicate real car behavior with unprecedented accuracy and precision. Enabling a driver to learn not just how fast to take a corner, but how the corner is really structured; roughness, bumps and kerbs are fully modeled thanks to our propriety laser-scan processing technology.
Cars and tracks from all categories are available, from Formula 3 to IndyCar and Monte Carlo to Indianapolis. Dallara engineers will be on hand to offer their expert advice, as well as your own race engineer.
It is possible to change virtually any parameter of a car's setup to meet the driver's needs and test the changes in a controlled environment. Our tyre thermal model allows for the preparation of both qualifying and race setups based on tyre usage, track characteristics and weather conditions. All changes can be made instantly via our propriety user interface, specifically designed for speed, ease of use and security of data.
The simulator has the same data channels as on the real car, but with even greater accuracy in the absence of signal noise and calibration errors. The fidelity of our model has been validated thoroughly by professional racing drivers across all categories. In addition there is also access to a number of channels that are impossible to measure on a real car (e.g. tyre forces), which enable a deeper and more thorough analysis of car behaviour.
