Dallara’s Electronics
In the automotive and motorsport landscape, we find ourselves faced with a profound transformation: we are seeing new frontiers emerge in motorsport where artificial intelligence can compete with human ability, in both virtual and real environments.
In parallel, the automotive sector is seeing, on the one hand, both consolidation of the sharing economy and autonomous driving; and on the other, strengthening of the emotional dimension of driving as a personal experience and source of pleasure.
Faced with this scenario, Dallara has made a strategic choice: to develop its engineering DNA through ever-deeper integration between traditional mechanics and advanced electronic systems.
The result is our Digital Innovation and Vehicle Electronics Solutions (DIVES) division.
DIVES: Integration between Traditional Mechanics and Advanced Electronic Systems
DIVES represents an integrated center of expertise. Our mission is indeed to design complete solutions which bring together electrics, electronics, and software, where electronic systems are not just additions to the vehicle, but rather integral parts that define its identity and performance.
The department also maintains a strong bent for innovation through partnerships with universities, start-ups, and other technology partners to create new opportunities through customized services for our clients.
We do not limit ourselves to simply supplying a vehicle: we guide and support clients with turnkey solutions, translating specific requests into complete, integrated products.
This vision takes concrete form in a stratified and interconnected technological architecture which operates on two fundamental levels: Low voltage (internal vehicle systems) and High voltage (powertrain, batteries and inverters).

These competencies are not confined to a single sector, but extend through all Dallara’s business units: from race cars and automotive solutions, through to aerospace applications.
Electronics and Software:
the Two Complementary Cores of DIVES
DIVES represents a perfect melding of two complementary core focuses which operate in close synergy within the development process. From initial design to final validation, each phase is internally optimized, guaranteeing total control over quality and capacity.

From data to knowledge
Advanced sensors and electronics capture and interpret vehicle data with unprecedented precision and granularity. The data gathered, both on the track and through our services, feed a sophisticated mathematical modeling system, describing the vehicle’s behavior from multiple aspects: structural, dynamic, and aerodynamic. The strength of this iterative approach lies in the ability to transform raw data into applied knowledge, creating a direct bridge between theory and actual performance.

The virtuous cycle of the simulation
The process is developed through a continuous cycle of refinement:
- The mathematical models are used to simulate and predict the vehicle’s behavior under different conditions
- The predictions are compared with the real data gathered on the track
- Any discrepancies are fed into an optimization process which makes the models ever-more accurate
Each piece of data gathered helps improve the precision of our forecasting models, and as a consequence, the performance of our vehicles.
Data-Driven Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence plays a key role in this process, representing an evolutionary leap which redefines the boundaries of automotive engineering.
It helps us in three main ways:
Automation
transfers the data gathered from the track to the models in a faster and more efficient manner, analyzing them through internally developed machine learning systems.
Prediction
reduces the complexity of the mathematical models, allowing the simulator to turn faster and predicting the vehicle’s reactions in unexplored scenarios.
Uncertainty management
when different branches of physics (aerodynamics, structural, elasticity) are combined, the models become extremely complex. Artificial intelligence helps predict behavior in the areas of greatest uncertainty.
AI as an amplifier of human expertise
The value of AI emerges when we use it as a dialog tool, where the quality of questions posed is fundamental. We don’t want AI to replace human work, but for it to become a tool to amplify the skills and expertise of its users. Above all, we wish to do so in an ethical manner: for this reason we train our employees on appropriate use of AI.

Electronics as a Service
Our investments in the Academy which promote the culture of innovation, both in the company and in the local area, led Dallara to develop services and tools which improve the customer experience, expanding our value proposition well beyond the production of vehicles.
E-Sports & Digital Entertainment
Dallara is redefining the concept of the motorsport experience. The offering ranges from premium simulators to more accessible solutions, integrated in a complete ecosystem of events, tournaments and competitions. The management includes streaming, professional commentators and social media campaigns, creating a bridge between the virtual and real racing world.
Transformer Technology
The implementation of advanced mathematical models known as transformer models represents the future of performance optimization. These systems are applied to predict complex aerodynamic behavior and identify potential faults. It is a technology which combines prevention and performance, guaranteeing greater vehicle reliability.
Simulators for
Gentlemen Drivers
The home simulator represents a cutting-edge solution for owners of high-performance vehicles. Designed with hardware faithful to the original – from the pedals, seat, and steering wheel right through to the driving feedback – they allow gentlemen (or indeed lady!) drivers to practice in the comfort of their own homes before going out on the track. They are the perfect answer for those who wish to perform at their best while minimizing the risks.
