Starting from 2017 Dallara supplies cars and spare parts to private teams participating in the American IMSA championship.
The Cadillac has the same suspensions, chassis and transmission as the Dallara P217 that runs in LMP2 category of the ELMS championship. The aerodynamic and the bodywork of this car have been developed in collaboration with the General Motors group and in particular for the Cadillac brand.

The initial V8 600 bhp 6.2 litre Cadillac engine was replaced by a 580 bhp 5.5-litre unit for BoP reasons. The X-Trac transmission has six gears. Cutting-edge safety systems include Zylon anti-intrusion panels, together with an innovative electric steering servo. The car won the first two seasons in the IMSA Championship as well as winning 4 times the Daytona 24 Hours.
