The Spark - Renault SRT - 01E is the first electric car approved by the FIA. Using the latest technology, the SRT_01E, aims to stretch the boundaries of what is currently achievable in electric motorsports. This car has zero emissions and ensures a balance between cost containment and sustainability, while coping with the demands of racing exclusively on street circuits.

The cars are manufactured by the French company Spark Racing Technology with a consortium of some of the leading companies in motorsports. Dallara, calling upon its forty years of experience, constructed the monocoque chassis with carbon fiber and aluminum. It is extremely lightweight and very resistant, and it complies with the 2014 FIA crash tests, comparable to those used in Formula One.

McLaren Electronic Systems supplies the electric motor and the electronic system. Williams Advanced Engineering, a member of the Williams group that includes the famous Williams F1 Team,  provides batteries that produce about 200 kW, the equivalent of 270bhp.

Everything is connected to a sequential gearbox with steering wheel controls, supplied by Hewland, with fixed ratios to help further reduce costs. Renault supervises the entire integrated system and is the technical partner for the championship. Renault, a manufacturer of electric vehicles, is a motorsports expert due to its Renault Sport Technologies and Renault Sport F1 programs.

Its specially designed, 18” tires perform excellently in both wet and dry conditions and are be supplied by Michelin.
