Since 2002, Dallara has been the sole supplier of the Indy NXT series, the preparatory class for Indycar with which it shares all the race weekends. Indy NXT is a very educational category for drivers, technicians and teams to gain experience in a wide variety of circuits: city tracks, circuits, and Speedways (i.e. ovals, such as the one in Indianapolis).

The Dallara IL15 features a carbon-fibre and composite monocoque chassis housing the front suspensions. It is 4,860 mm long and has a 2,970 mm wheelbase, it is characterised by very rounded flanks narrowing drastically towards the tail. It is powered by a 90-degree V8 delivering 420 bhp at 9,200 rpm through a six-speed sequential gearbox. Among the IndyCar drivers we can mention  Marco Andretti, Josef Newgarden, Tony Kanaan, Helio Castroneves and Scott Dixon, who have successfully raced in the Indy Lights.
